McGregor Memorial EMS Provides Flu Vaccinations and Participates in Pandemic Readiness Exercise

Durham, NH - October 24, 2007 - McGregor Memorial EMS (formerly Durham Ambulance Corps) this week provided free flu vaccinations to senior citizens living in Durham and to firefighters at the Durham Fire Department as part of an exercise intended to increase readiness in the event of a pandemic or other widespread health emergency. McGregor paramedics received training in providing vaccinations mealier this month, in order to ensure that adequate resources are available in the event of a public health emergency. McGregor is working with the Southern Strafford Community Health Coalition (SSCHC) to test plans for the mass distribution of vaccines or medications, care of the ill during pandemics and general public health coordination during any emergency that affects the health of our population.
