EMT Basic

There are two required texts for the EMT-Basic course. They are Prehospital Emergency Care (8th Edition) by Joseph Mistovich and the accompanying workbook both published by Brady/Prentice Hall.

 

EMT Intermediate

There are two required texts for the EMT Intermediate course. The first is Intermediate Emergency Care: 1985 Cirriculum (3rd Edition) by Cherry et al. and published by Prentice Hall. The first four chapters of this book should be read before the first class.

The second text is Basic Arrhythmias (6th Edition) by Gail Walraven. There is also an optional (but highly recommended) review manual for Intermediate Emergency Care.

   

Note: Course materials can also be purchased at the Durham Book Exchange on Main St. in Durham.
